NYC Day 5 and 6

HELLO everyone! Audrey here! Guest blogging on the retarded and childish and mean and pissy XinQuan's blog!
Wow! Its like our 3rd last day here in NY, and I'm only blogging about day 5! (tsktsk.. XinQuan has just been to lazy and happening to update this! =P) the days have been passing quite quickly, and i dont wanna go back to Singapore!!!!!!! =( and its been quite amazing that I've survived SO many days with XinQuan and Ian (and YiHan too actually!)..

Anyway, on day 5, we visited MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) and saw many pretty paintings (my favourite was the Girl in the Mirror by Picasso, Ian likes it too! And XinQuan liked Starry Night by Van Gogh). I really liked the cute drawings on the huge wall which depicted the present world, and many other architecture things that were on display on the other levels of the museum! There was this fabric exhibit by Issey Miyake too ;p

After MoMA, we walked around the city and saw the New York Public Library, Rockefeller Center, the beautiful Chrysler building, as well as the Grand Central Terminal station which has really high arched ceilings! Think somewhere during the walk was more shopping and spending of more money!! =/ and XinQuan has a new favourite store in NY!! Kenneth Cole! ;p

We met YiHan for dinner at some Jewish place, and ate nice Steakburgers.. And at night back in the apartment, YiHan and Ian were so amused with the chain that i was wearing that day, and decided to pose for a picture with it! =P

So that kind of concludes Day 5..

this is xq again!! haha.. i've not read what audrey blogged yet.. but it should be somewhat bimbotic.. :p haha. hmmm.. this is day 6 and we took the circle line cruise, part of this wonderful 6 ticket pass tt we purchase.. :p it was so fetch. we got to catch a view of the statue of liberty, which yihan affectionately refers to as 'tt bitch'.. and we got to catch views of the various skylines of mahattan.. the west side, the east side and the financial district as well.. :) it was absolutely stunning.. we also managed to go under the bridges tt connect brooklyn and mahattan.. :) yup, after the cruise, which we were in the hot sun for most of the ride cuz we decided to sit outside.. we managed went to grand central for lunch!! it was a sinful lunch of thick burger patties, bacon, melted cheese and a fat portion of fries.. :p haha. after which, we shopped around the 5th ave, buying chocolates, spending forever at sephora, our like fav shop.. and also getting a few sneak peaks of the chrysler. in the evening, we split up for our own plans, with aud and ian meeting their friend ruoxi, and me and yihan going to harlem to have dinner with miss heng. the dinner was at some italian place, and the food was quite good, esp the wonderful tiramisu.. :) it was an interesting experience to take the train to harlem cuz the train was like airconless and super stuffy.. OMG. and yeah, it was full of blacks.. haha.

NYC Day 1-4

hello.. finally an early enough day when i have enough time to blog.. :p

yup.. its been great so far.. haha. seeing as we've taken so many million photos and also spent a lot of money.. :X haha. these are the pictures from day 1 after we touched down.. just a little exploring of union square, soho and broadway, as well as trying our very first take out dinner! :) lunch at this mexican place was good.. esp the gaucamole..

ok, and this is day 2! hehe.. we took the subway for the first time!! :) and we didn't get lost.. and we managed to make our to the American Museum of Natural History. its great.. i love it.. the exhibits are great and we had so much fun at the shows which weren't allowed to film.. ;)

eh, day 3 was spent at woodbury, this massive complex!! haha.. damn cheap la the place. so many brands there for low low prices.. really shopped till we were going broke. but its this warehouse thing, and its really so cheap!! :) haha, so yeah, no photos.

this is day 4.. central park and we also wanted to go this place called Prune for brunch.. and we failed to do so cuz we woke up too late and watched the french open finals.. yay, nadal won. but yeah, as a result, we managed to catch jake gyllenhall leaving the place and he was so absolutely nice and we took a picture with him.. :) after which, we went to central park on a most cloudy day and took quite a few photos and a really long walk! but so sad la, we actually missed the bloody lake.. must go back there another day to take pix there.. :p also, we took the tram to the Roosevelt island and the view was excellent.. i love it! :) there are 2 parts cuz too many photos :p

heh heh.. we made it onto trent!! :D

first post from NYC!!

hello!! in new york now!! :) haha.. its sunday night and we've taken many many photos.. and i shall maybe upload them into a web album! for now, i shall have one nice photo.. hehe.. recognize the guy in the picture?? ;)

so we were going to this place, Prune to do brunch and there he was outside! he was so nice to take picture with us.. :) haha.. yeah, new york city has been a blast so far.. yup, more fun ahead. here are links to some photos we took.. :)

I'm Off to New York!!

ok.. this is my last post before flying off the new york city tomorrow! :) haha.. will only be back on the 23rd of June.. yup!

anw, this is a really ancient photo (well sort of).. it was at nick's place before he flew off to Ukraine for 3weeks.. and this is him and his fish tank! i really love it.. all the salt water fish and it looks so colorful! haha.. the water so clear somemore! :D

this was some random day after work with hs at marina square.. had really nice ramen and nice desserts after tt.. :) we were both seriously so tired tt day after long hours.. but was a nice dinner.. :)


hahaha! this is the double guacamoli whatever burger at carl's junior with extra avocado sauce, and extra bacon! OMG.. its so sinful and overspilling everywhere. shall protect the identity of the greedy pig, who also ordered 18 dollars of KFC for himself!! AND ITS NOT ME.. well, duh.

also on sunday, i went for this dim sum buffet at Oriental hotel with my family.. it was called Cherry Garden.. the service was excellent!! :) its like i just take out the menu and the waiter would come with paper, ready to take down my orders.. its an a la carte buffet somemore.. haha.

this is the interesting design of oriental hotel.. if u remember the exterior, u'd know why it looks like tt inside..

and the roasted pork ribs in champagne sauce.. :)


desserts were fanciful and refreshing..

managed to catch 3 movies over the week too.. shrek, pirates and zodiac.. haha. zodiac was obviously the best of the 3.. v long thriller, with an ending tt was so ironic! and the worse part, it is based on a true story so its like tt in real life..! but watch it if u have time, i think its one the better movies this year.. :) shrek was seriously a waste of time.. easily the worst of the 3 installments.. had a hard time finding occassions to laugh other than the snow white summoning her animals!! and i even fell aslp.. as for the pirates.. well, pirates one is one of my fav movies, so of course i, to a certain extend would sorta like this pirates even though i think it was quite crappy.. :X gosh.. such a disappointment! but yeah.. jack sparrow is still the comical character tt i liked from the first movie.. :)

today, i also met nick, first time in a long long while.. we went in search of this restaurant in riverside view.. its so new, it doesn't register in my street directory.. haha. so i parked not so close by and had to walk in the sweltering heat for quite a distance.. i had this for lunch plus some dessert.. haha.

this is a nice view of robertson quay.. :) the place is v nice.. quiet and tropical island-ish kinda vibe.. would love to stay in one of the apartments there.. but obviously so ex!
